Welcome to the Farm!

Food You Can Trust

After generations of raising livestock, we make it a priority to care for our animals to the best of our abilities! We place the highest importance on making sure that our animals are ethically raised. We also prioritize being good stewards of the land by utilizing pasture rotation and grazing management.

Our sheep and cattle are both pasture raised where they have plenty of room to kick up their heels, graze on the green grass, and munch on hay all year long. In their final days they are fed a finishing grain diet curated by nutritionists.

'Meat' the Family

It's nice to meet you! Nestled in the rolling hills of Southwest Nebraska along the Republican river you will find two neighboring 5th generation family farms: Tecker Ranch and Buffalo Valley Ranch. Sye and Paige grew up raising sheep, hogs, and cattle on Tecker Ranch just a few miles down the river from their cousin Meg who grew up raising cattle on Buffalo Valley Ranch. Fast forward a number of years and the cousins are all now 5th generation ranchers in their 30's carrying on their families' ranches alongside their parents.

The cousins have been selling meat from their ranches locally for over 10 years. In 2024 Sye and his sister Paige, as well as Meg and her husband Nate came together and formed Prairie Bell Family Farms with the goal of providing high-quality meat directly from our farms to your tables.

Calving Season

Calving Season Has Begun! It’s that time of year again—when the nights are long, the coffee is strong, and the miracle of new life reminds us why we do what we do. The first calves have hit the ground, and with them comes the usual mix of excitement, exhaustion, and a whole lot of prayers that the mamas handle their business like the pros they are.Calving season isn’t for the faint of heart. It means checking cows in the dead of night, racing against the cold, and sometimes stepping in (literally and figuratively) to help when things don’t go as planned. It’s mud-covered boots, tired eyes, and the kind of joy that can only come from watching a wobbly newborn calf take its first steps under a sky full of stars. There’s no alarm clock quite like a mama cow bellowing at 3 a.m. and no better reminder of God’s handiwork than seeing life unfold right before your eyes. Every calf born is a testament to His perfect design, and every sunrise on the ranch is proof that no matter how tired we are, we wouldn’t trade this life for anything. So, if you need us, we’ll be out in the pasture—running on faith, grit, and maybe a little too much caffeine. Welcome to calving season, folks. It’s going to be a wild one.
